What is Rapid Resolution Therapy?
Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) is a fast and effective solution for many of life’s challenges. It is a pragmatic approach using science and philosophy. RRT trains the way the mind processes information so that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are transformed. RRT works to address and clear the ongoing effects of anxiety, panic disorder, insomnia, night-terrors, grief, heartbreak, betrayal, childhood abuse, sexual violence, shame, guilt, rage, anger, jealousy, and combat or first responder PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Studies Leading to Rapid Resolution Therapy
Studies have shown that rather than long drawn-out therapies to resolve some of life’s conflicts, RRT can be more effective and have longer-lasting results.
Sometimes referred to as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), it does not involve hypnosis or drugs, but it is compatible with other treatments. RRT/ART is a talking therapy during which the therapist leads most of the discussion, contrary to most therapy.
People report becoming absorbed in a conversation and are then astonished that the way they feel, think and respond to certain things having been transformed. They say they feel lighter and that they no longer experience the turmoil that had been weighing them down. They report a sense of freedom and clarity. An RRT session can be completed in a single day.
Causes of (PTSD) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
We usually tend to think of those with PTSD as having experienced a specific reason for their symptoms; like a soldier who has experienced war. This can be the case however, it is common for less obvious events to produce trauma symptoms:
- “Minor” car accidents, especially those that cause injury
- Being left alone
- Dark Thoughts
- Birth stress, for both mother and infant
- Death of a loved one
- Drug addiction, and the behaviors often associated with it.
- Exposure to extreme heat or cold
- Falls – especially when children or elderly people are involved
- Illness or potential illness
- Medical procedures on children that are restrained or anesthetized, or that are invasive.
- Sudden loud noises
- Unexpectedly having to move or losing a job
How Can RRT Help Me?
At your first session, the therapist and you will get to know each other and establish safety and trust. Your recovery process begins at this initial step. It’s important that you feel that you are understood and that we clarify your goals for treatment. If after this initial meeting, you are determined to move forward and dispense with these fears, we will proceed with Rapid Resolution Therapy.
Many clients find that in about 3-5 sessions many of their long held symptoms have been resolved. You may wish to continue counseling for other less specific issues or anxieties in your life, however, the goal is to help you find healing quickly so that you can go on and live without therapy.
