Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing in Boca Raton
At LifeGaines, we use the AcuPulse fractional CO2 laser device for skin resurfacing. It helps improve sun damage by minimizing discoloration, fine lines, and wrinkles. This laser also treats scarring. AcuPulse removes deep wrinkles and textural changes caused by aging, sun exposure, and smoking.
AcuPulse laser skin resurfacing can replace injectables with AcuPulse. This technique is ideal for smoothing outlines that Botox® and dermal fillers may not be able to address. The AcuPulse laser can also be used to smooth out wrinkles on the upper and lower eyelids, around the mouth to help with smoker’s lines, and on the cheeks to smooth out sleeper’s lines.
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles – Laser skin resurfacing boosts collagen production, which helps tighten the skin. This will decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin.
- Diminishes scars – Laser skin resurfacing promotes the growth of new skin cells, which results in the diminished appearance of acne scars. Over time, you will get smoother skin.
- Improved skin elasticity – Laser skin resurfacing triggers collagen and elastin production. These proteins are natural substances that give your skin strength, firmness, and youthful elasticity.
- Reduces hyperpigmentation – Laser skin resurfacing helps reverse sun damage causing hyperpigmentation, thereby improving your complexion.
- Corrects dark spots and redness – Laser skin resurfacing targets age spots, redness, and visible veins on the face. This will give you a younger-looking appearance.
- Long-lasting results – You may notice improved skin tone and texture after the first session. Several sessions may be necessary to achieve your desired results. As the laser effects continue to manifest in your skin, you will see clearer, more radiant, and younger-looking skin over time.
How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?
At LifeGaines Med Spa in Boca Raton, we use AcuPulse™ for laser skin rejuvenation, a fractional CO2 laser that emits high amounts of energy or heat penetrating deep into the skin. In addition to removing and reducing the appearance of sun-damaged skin, it helps smooth the skin by stimulating collagen production through the creation of heat.
With AcuPulse laser skin resurfacing, the 10,600 nm wavelength penetrates deeper and more effectively than other treatments. AcuPulse effectively treats wrinkles and scars by delivering high energy into deep tissue. Using this method, the skin can restructure into healthy, glowing, and unblemished skin without damaging the outer surface. It is also more effective than traditional laser and IPL skin resurfacing for significant textural issues and deep wrinkles.
The AcuPulse provides state-of-the-art technology with 11 modes for truly customizable laser skin resurfacing treatment. Treatments can be deeper, with more healing time and more downtime, or shallower, with less downtime. Generally, deeper treatments yield better results. However, some patients prefer less aggressive treatments to shorten their recovery time.
Laser skin resurfacing solves various skin concerns, such as:
- Crepey skin
- Dull skin tone and rough texture
- Acne scars
- Sun damage and pigmentation
- Enlarged pores
What to Expect From Laser Skin Resurfacing
Before any procedure, we will assess your family and medical history to determine if laser skin resurfacing is suitable for you. We will also discuss your aesthetic goals and preferences to present you with realistic expectations after the treatment. Results from laser skin resurfacing may vary per person, as per any medical treatment or procedure.
Laser skin resurfacing may take 15 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the treated area. In general, superficial treatments are used on those with minimal sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles and those who wish to improve their skin with minimal downtime.
Deep treatment is more aggressive and is used to treat sun damage that has led to significant changes in the skin’s texture and deep lines and wrinkles. This treatment typically requires seven days of downtime. Many patients choose to take a week off work.
Three laser peel treatments are typically recommended every six weeks. Some patients report side effects to include itching, redness, swelling, inflammation, tenderness, a burning sensation, mild pinpoint bleeding and/or localized fluid leaks, and dryness and tightness of the skin. These side effects typically resolve within one week.
Your doctor will provide you with post-treatment care instructions. Generally, patients return to their usual skincare routines and exercise routines after 5-7 days. However, some skincare products and procedures should be avoided for several weeks and months following treatment. Over the next 3 to 6 months, patients will notice an improvement in their skin’s glow, tightness, and complexion.

Laser resurfacing can decrease the appearance of fine lines in the face. It can also treat loss of skin tone and improve your complexion if you have scars or sun damage. Laser resurfacing can’t eliminate excessive or sagging skin.
