Hormone Imbalance: Symptoms and Treatment

Even when we are fully grown adults, our body still needs growth hormones. Human growth hormones are naturally occurring protein hormones that are produced by the pituitary glands and help regulate metabolism, stimulate cell reproduction, and play a large role in maintaining a healthy body composition. Abundant amounts of growth hormones are produced in children’s bodies for them to grow, and as people reach middle age, the human growth hormones help with cognitive function, metabolism, and more. However, as people grow older, the pituitary gland starts to slowly reduce the number of growth hormones it produces.

A lack of growth hormones may also be attributed to a damaged pituitary gland or hypothalamus, which is the part of the brain that controls this gland. Or, a tumor may have grown on the pituitary gland, and there may be damage from the tumor, surgical or radiation damage from treating the tumor, or issues with blood supply to the pituitary gland. Many people elect to treat this imbalance of human growth hormones as a means to feel younger and rejuvenated, but there are plenty of other reasons why treatment may be a good route such as the reasons listed above. Below, we outline the symptoms of growth hormone imbalance, and the best treatment available to relieve these symptoms.

Symptoms of Growth Hormone Imbalance

When your body is producing a lower than usual amount of human growth hormones, you may experience a variety of symptoms. In children, these symptoms may take the form of late puberty or reduced hair growth. Another indication that a child is experiencing a growth hormone imbalance is a shorter height compared to other children their age.

Adults will experience growth hormone imbalances in their middle age (typically from ages 40 to 65) when the pituitary gland reduces the number of hormones that it secretes. Adults tend to have more symptoms that include:

  • Bodily fatigue
  • Heightened anxiety
  • Weight gain
  • Weakened bones
  • Lower energy levels
  • Insulin resistance
  • Heart problems
  • Reduced sex drive and sexual health issues

Hormone imbalance is not an inherited trait and could be diagnosed with different examinations and tests.

Low growth hormone levels can cause you to feel extremely drained and it can be challenging to exercise or perform any kind of physical activity.  As mentioned, with progressing age, the number of growth hormones in our body starts to decline. A lot of activities start to become harder than before as you start to grow older, partly because of the low production of growth hormones and the effect that has on our bodies. The low production leads to lack of energy, loss of bone density, slow injury recovery, fatigue, weakness, and more. So what can you do to remedy these symptoms of growth hormone imbalance, and is it even worth it?

Treating Growth Hormone Imbalance with HGH Therapy

The good news is that a growth hormone imbalance can be treated safely and effectively for both children and adults. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) Therapy is a treatment that can help relieve these symptoms. This therapy is in the form of injections that are made with bio-identical hormones, which have a structure that is molecularly identical to the hormones women make in their bodies. Comprehensive blood testing is utilized to make sure your body is prepared for therapy, and that you are receiving treatment specific to your needs. After our medical professionals review your test results, it can be seen whether your body needs those extra growth hormones or not.

There are also other factors to consider when taking this treatment, including medical history, age, and overall health. This treatment will allow your body to feel more energized and can help you return to doing activities that were at least partially interrupted because of your hormone imbalance. For children, if the growth hormone imbalance is treated fairly quickly and early on, they have a greater chance of a more typical growth trajectory. Generally, children go through HGH injections until they reach their full height potential and growth, although it typically depends on the child’s height response. It can take up to 6 months to see any differences in height.

Benefits of HGH Therapy

There are lots of benefits to HGH Therapy such as better sleep habits. As previously stated, poor sleep and lack of energy are some of the more bothersome symptoms of growth hormone imbalance. Good quality sleep can also make you feel more energized throughout the day and can have a positive impact on your mood.

Another benefit of HGH Therapy is that it can aid in your efforts to keep your body healthy and performant. More specifically, boosting the production of growth hormones will also increase the amount of collagen your body will produce and will stimulate the collagen to perform its primary tasks. Collagen is a protein in your body that contributes to bone strength, joint strength, and skin elasticity. Maintaining healthy levels of collagen will keep your bones strong, as well as your skin, which will help to prevent sagging or wrinkles.

In addition to bone, muscle, and skin health, as well as better sleep habits, there are other benefits that you should take into consideration when deciding if HGH therapy will have a positive impact on your life. Some of those benefits include:

  • Maintaining your metabolism
  • Boosting stamina and energy levels
  • Enhancing libido (sexual drive)
  • Reduced risk for cardiovascular diseases (partially attributed to weight loss)
  • Strengthening your immune system
  • Regulating cell turnover rates
  • Stimulating cell renewal
  • Restoring your body’s ability to create lean muscle

All in all, HGH therapy can help improve your overall quality of life and state of happiness if you are suffering any of the symptoms outlined previously. Please keep in mind, although HGH therapy has its clear benefits, there are also some reasons as to why it might not be for you. There are some potential side effects of HGH Therapy that should be considered and discussed with a medical professional.
